Raku-fired pinch bowl. Clear crackle glaze. The unglazed, raw clay is black from carbon uptake during the raku process.

Ideal to hold garlic/ginger/spices, kitchen prep or dry snacks. 

Food safe but not water-tight and should not be used to hold liquids.

Each bowl is individual and unique, and may not be the one shown in the images. Approximate measurements: H:5cm W:11cm. Approximate weight: 150-175grams

Raku Fired Ceramics
'Western' raku firing has evolved from a traditional Japanese method of fast-firing but with the addition of placing the red-hot pots into an enclosed chamber filled with combustibles, which ignite instantly - the resulting 'reduction' effect is responsible for the characteristic black carbon uptake which can be seen on any unglazed parts, as well through any glaze crazing and pin-holing.

When you order a product from the SDX online shop, the seller themselves will package and ship the product directly to you (we do not ship products from the SDX stores).
