We Caught Up With One of Our Glasgow Artists, Veronica Wright

Please introduce yourself.

"I am Veronica Sinclair Wright and I am a Grandma."

Where in Scotland are you from?

"I was born in Glasgow but grew up near Crieff."

Veronica has stocked with us since 2018, from the day our doors opened in our new Glasgow Veronica's work has been there. Her paintings range in subject choices from Glasgo Cathedral to her whimsical onion painting, "Know your onions". Veronica's work clearly shows the influence Glasgow has had on her artwork with many Glasgow landmarks featuring in her collection.

Can you tell us a little bit about your background?

In the past I have done secretarial work and ahve run a gift/craft retail shop.

How did you begin painting?

I came to painting later in life, first at Glasgow Art School evening and summer school classes and also 3LS at Strathclyde. I now paint in oils with strong use of colour. I am interested in buildings, but also do still life work. My "studio" doubles as my kitchen where I am either cooking or painting.
