Why did you choose to be an artist/designer?
Actually, an inner power of myself guides me to try to communicate stories with different ways than the traditional ones.
What medium do you work in?
I work with metals such as copper, bronze, glass and mirror, stainless steel and wood as well as natural elements that have been worked already by the nature (sea drifted woods, pebbles and pieces of pottery from rivers and shores).
What's your background, have you always been an artist/designer?
Since my 20’s (1991) I’ve had my first glass blowing workshop. In 2004 I had transformed my interest to metalworking and collaboration between glass and metal.
How has your practice changed over time?
I had started working with one element (glass) and now my work is more creative because I enclose some natural colours of the metals to the final object and more natural elements which show historical or human moments.
How and when did you start creating?
The beginning of my creative ideas started with the design of my products in 1984.
How would you describe your creations?
Simple, which try to combine earthy natural materials with the historic moments of our present and past.
What inspires you?
Mother Nature in addition with human behaviour, literature and poetry accompany with music.
Where do you show / sell your art?
At the current period. SDX stores (Edinburgh, Glasgow & online shop) has given the opportunity to me and my wife (NTina Doryforou jeweller) to exhibit and sell our creations. We also have an online shop at Etsy.com https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ChristosNTina

Art can have an impact in the local communities and leads to have a profoundly impact to the humanity.
Who are your biggest influences?
Ancient art, history and relationship between humans and nature in the passing of time.
Which current art do you think is having an impact in the world right now?
All the arts have impact in human behaviour and that leads to normalization of relations between people and nations.
What difference has working with SDX made to your business?
SDX helps my work to find its way from workshop to customers. Supporting each other, because together we stand, divided we fall.
