Raku fired ring bowls in a copper/blue glaze. This ring bowl shows more blue/turquoise, but may also show some copper lustre in the surface decoration. 

Approximate measurements are generally between; height:4-5cm, width:8-9cm.

Due to the unpredictable nature of raku firing each ring bowl will show totally unique and unpredictable surface decorations and the amount of blue/turquoise and copper lustre surface decoration showing will differ from those shown in the images. The ring bowls are not food safe and not water-tight.

'Western' raku firing has evolved from a traditional Japanese method of fast-firing but with the addition of placing the red-hot pots into an enclosed chamber filled with combustibles, which ignite instantly - the resulting 'reduction' effect is responsible for the characteristic black carbon uptake which can be seen on any unglazed parts, as well through any glaze crazing and pin-holing. The flames are also responsible for any copper lustre effects.

If your item is faulty or you are unhappy with your purchase, a full refund will be issued upon return of the item, in perfect condition within the original packaging, within 28 days. Please contact us at online@sdx.scot to arrange your refund.
