Ian Henderson lives and works near South Queensferry in Scotland. He studied Ceramics at Edinburgh College of Art from 1984 until 1989 gaining both an Honours Degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Ceramics.

In 2004 he returned to undertake further study and graduated in 2006 with Masters Degree in Fine Art (MFA).

For many years Ian worked as a Lecturer in Art & Design in Further Education Colleges whilst still making in a variety of media before devoting himself to developing his ceramic practice on a full-time basis.
